Nicky Ison is a Founding Director of the Community Power Agency, a Research Associate at the Institute for Sustainable Futures at the University of Technology, Sydney and a Strategist at Climate Action Network Australia. She is an acknowledged leader, expert and commentator in the fields of energy policy, community energy, new clean energy business models and energy market reform.
Nicky has spent over fifteen years working and volunteering in the climate and clean energy sectors, including helped to found five organisations. She was the inaugural Chair of advocacy organisation Solar Citizens and the inaugural coordinator of the Coalition for Community Energy (C4CE). Nicky is a pioneer of the community energy sector in Australia and worked with and researched over 70 community energy projects in Australia, the US and Europe. In 2014, Nicky was recognised on Westpac and the Australian Financial Review’s 100 Women of Influence List.
